Charles Owen Pony squad selected for the 2017 Europeans

British Eventing have announced the six combinations who, from 25th to 30th July, will represent Great Britain in the Charles Owen Pony squad at the 2017 FEI European Championships for Ponies in Kaposvár, Hungary.

The squad, in alphabetical order are;

Saffron Cresswell, 16 from Worcestershire, and her own 12 year old gelding Cuffesgrange Little Ric

Molly Faulkner, 15 from Kent, with Mr John Thornton’s 13 year old gelding Sycamore Lad

Connie Gill, 14 from North Yorkshire, riding her 17 year old gelding Hotshots

Georgina Herrling, 14 from Oxfordshire, with her own eight year old stallion SF Detroit

Oliver Jackson, 15 from Nottinghamshire, on Mrs Joy Jackson’s 12 year old gelding Daydream Fourteen

Saffie Osborne, 15 from Berkshire, riding Lord and Lady Blyth’s 12 year old mare Little Indian Feather

The non-travelling reserves are Tom Bird with his own Night Fury and Hattie Grace on Mr Vincent Jones and Mr Simon Grace’s Noble Superman.

Saffron Cresswell brings with her experience from two previous Championships and a team silver and team gold medal and Molly Faulkner makes this her second call up to the Charles Owen European Pony squad having won a team silver medal at the 2016 Championships. For the remaining four riders their 2017 selection will see them making their debut at a Youth European Championships.
