Four days of thrilling competition at Oxfordshire’s biggest sporting occasion start on Thursday (8th September) morning. This year Blenheim Palace is staging three international classes – the principal CCI3*, the prestigious CIC3* for eight- and nine-year-old horses, and the inaugural finale of the new Event Rider Masters series. This means more sporting action than ever before at Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials, and visitors can watch cross-country and show jumping action from many of the world’s very best riders on both Saturday (10th September) and Sunday (11th September).

Alongside the international classes, Blenheim Palace hosts a wide range of highly popular competitions for amateur event riders, giving them the chance to experience the atmosphere of one of Europe’s biggest three-day-events and the opportunity to mix with the heroes of their sport.

Besides equestrian action, Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials is the perfect family day out. The Attractions Arena boasts a full time-table each day, featuring demonstrations from the likes of dressage guru Pammy Hutton, the chance to watch popular event rider Ben Hobday learning to ride side-saddle, and the brilliantly exciting High Jump competition.

In the Learning Area, legendary British team chef d’equipe Yogi Breisner talks about his future plans on Friday morning.

The shopping is better than ever – this is the time and the place to find lovely, unusual Christmas presents you won’t discover on the high street – and the food stalls are delicious and varied.

However, if you can’t make it to the event this year, the sporting action will be live-streamed via the Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials website (www.blenheimhorse.co.uk), so sign up now – and if you miss anything, you can watch again on catch-up. The Event Rider Masters series will be streamed live on www.eventridermasters.tv.
