As a working mum with a busy life that also includes dogs and horses, I don’t get a huge amount of time to think about my own wardrobe, so I always choose quick fixes. The easiest way to update your look is to grab some colour, and I do that through accessories, bold outer layers and footwear. If like me your wardrobe is a sea of black/brown/navy then adding just a couple of bright colour tones really does lift your look, especially at this time of year when it’s pretty grey out there!
At the moment I’m wearing the Libertine Jacket in Red, which looks fantastic with smart black trousers and classic white shirt for meetings and jeans and sweater for the school run. Having pieces which are versatile in your wardrobe is also important – I like garments that I can style and accessorise for all occasions and adapt for day and night wear.
On the boot front, I am particularly in love with my short suede jodhpur boots in Navy at the moment as my ‘go to’ boot of choice. Based on a classic Chelsea boot design, this style comes in a variety of colours and the Navy, Stone and Camel just work so brilliantly with that seasonal cross over from autumn to spring and then again autumn to winter.
When I design or buy for The Spanish Boot Company, I’m always thinking about my customers, who like me lead very active and hectic lives. We all want to look great but with minimum effort!
As an equestrian and dog walker, I also need boots that fit with my lifestyle too, and our Classic Boots are still one of our most popular boot styles and for a good reason: They look great, feel great and go with everything! These boots are often copied in design but don’t be fooled, our boots are still one of the originals and still the best in my view! The quality, fit and performance of our boots is second to none – which is why our customers will often come back season after season and keep buying them up in different colours! Just make sure you wax them to add a water-repellent finish, and you have a great looking boot that is ready for everything!
So, here’s to enjoying your spring wardrobe – whatever the weather!
