Producing the fastest Advanced round of the day Taylor edged ahead of dressage and show jumping leader Lauren Mclusky, to take the win. Finishing on a three-phase score of 27.2 Izzy Taylor now holds the record for the best Advanced finishing score at Little Downham Horse Trials, being the only rider to finish on a sub 30 score.

Izzy Taylor also finished third in the Advanced with Perfect Stranger, a ride she has taken over from Andrew Nicholson this season, and produced a further six top five placings with rides in the Intermediate and Novice classes.

With 25 very competitive sections across the weekend, the event saw a high standard of competition across all levels from BE90 to Advanced.  BE90 section Q saw a sensational dressage performance from Malcolm Holtshausen and Billy Estrella, who completed on their 16 score (84% as a dressage test percentage) to take the win. Gordon Murphy replicated that performance in BE100 section N, coming home just 1 second over the optimum time in the cross-country phase to finish on 16.4, to win by a margin of 8.1.

During the Advanced prize giving on Friday 2nd June, owner and organiser, Tina Ure presented a cheque of £7,000 to the East Anglian Air Ambulance. The donation was made up of the start fees paid by the competitors over Saturday and Sunday’s competition. Further donations were collected from riders, owners, supporters and spectators across the weekend and a final total will be announced in due course.  The Air Ambulance is a much valued service by the equestrian community and one that the event is extremely proud to be able to support.
