TELL US ABOUT YOUR LOVE AFFAIR WITH HORSES

As long as I can remember! At home our neighbours had ponies so after much pleading, my parents eventually gave in when I was aged 14. My first pony Flicka came as a package deal,  all her tack,  the use of a field and a ton of hay!

HOW HAS THIS INSPIRED YOUR WORK?

Hugely…I love the lifestyle, and while I love the city,  I’m a real country girl at heart. With the renaissance of tweed and all the amazing brands around, I saw a real need for a well considered, quality brand to complement and accessorise with these beautiful garments.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR DESIGN STYLE:

I would describe it a clean and classic. I want the pieces I make to be worn and loved, not sitting in their jewellery boxes. I spend a lot of time making sure they sit well,  feel beautiful, are comfortable to wear and will stand the test of time, as well as being aesthetically pleasing pieces.

WHO WEARS YOUR JEWELLERY?

My jewellery is worn by clients across the globe but what unites them is that they appreciate well designed, timeless pieces which they can wear everyday or dress up for a cocktail party and still work beautifully. I created each piece to work in such a way that clients can wear them with casual or formal attire with ease.

DO YOU HAVE ANY FAVOURITE FASHION DESIGNERS AND WHY?

Yes, I adore Ralph Lauren. I love the clean, classic lines and my jewellery looks fantastic with their equestrian inspired country couture.

DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE PIECE FROM YOUR COLLECTIONS?

Yes, I have quite a few! When you are working for so long on a piece of jewellery, it becomes very personal to you, and so I pretty much adore every single piece.I have a pair of the Blenheim Stud Earrings, and I also have a pair of the Derby Hoop Earrings in gold which have tiny diamonds where the strap detailing is. I suppose my biggest extravagance is the Farah Neckchain in gold. It’s a fabulous weighty piece that is always a talking point whenever I wear it!”

QUALITY JEWELLERY IS ALWAYS AN INVESTMENT SO HOW CAN YOU BE SURE YOU ARE BUYING SOMETHING THAT YOU WILL ADORE AND WEAR IN YEARS TO COME?

Always choose style and quality over something that’s on trend. Classic, well-made items whether jewellery or clothes will feel beautiful to wear given the time that has been invested into their design and the quality materials used in their execution.

All my designs are contemporary yet with an elegant and timeless appeal with decades of wearability in mind, but should you want a change, we also offer a bespoke service where we can take a piece of jewellery and transform it into something you will wear. This is particularly popular with family heirlooms where a valuable piece has sat in a jewellery box for years because it’s ‘old fashioned’ and I bring it back to life by crafting it into a piece of jewellery you would wear and do. The joy on people’s faces when they get to wear their great grannies engagement ring as a broach or ring is priceless.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE BESPOKE PIECE YOU HAVE EVER MADE?

There are many! Of all the precious stones I work with, I love diamonds and really good ones. For me, they are so durable, and the perfect diamond will also flash all the colours of the rainbow. I have very good contacts with my gem merchant who I have worked with for many years, and we only incorporate the finest stones into my designs. I suppose, one piece that really stood out for me was a pair of interlocking platinum rings set with four large diamonds. These were designed to be worn together and look like one ring but could also be worn separately. The idea behind the design was that in time, her daughters would each have one of the rings. A beautiful story behind one of my favourite commissions.
