For the first time, the England Ladies Polo Team, captained by Nina Vestey, will play a visiting USA Ladies team for the Thai Polo Club Ladies International for the Diamond Jubilee Trophy on Saturday 29 July at Guards Polo Club. The addition of a ladies’ test match on this world-renowned international day of sport is testament to the increasing popularity of polo among lady players.
David Woodd, Chief Executive of the HPA said:
“The appointment of Swarovski as the official sponsor of the England Ladies Polo Team emphasises the increasing number of talented and competitive lady players in our sport. This area of polo is growing rapidly and the support of an influential and dynamic brand such as Swarovski can only enhance the ladies’ game further. This inaugural test match, for the Thai Polo Club Ladies International for the Diamond Jubilee Trophy, will also highlight the ladies’ game to a wider, international audience and encourage others to take up this great sport.”
Swarovski’s support for sport and wellbeing goes back to 1895 when its founder, Daniel Swarovski, first encouraged his employees to live healthy and active lifestyles in the Austrian Alps, where he set up his company. Today, Swarovski continues to promote this ethos whilst shining a light on women’s empowerment with beautiful products that are responsibly sourced and made.
With the men’s national team also in action, playing The Commonwealth for the Royal Salute Coronation Cup, this day will deliver two premier sporting contests. Complementing these games is a variety of hospitality and ticket options to ensure a perfect day for everyone in the spectacular surroundings of Windsor Great Park.
