SS18: The Lilac Edit

It’s been dubbed the new millennial pink by the fashion press, but how do you incorporate this season’s must-wear lilac in to your equestrian wardrobe? Luckily, we are here to help!

For me, when I think of lilac I immediately imagine packets of Parma Violets sweets in a huge jam jar that the old sweet shop used to sell but historically, the lilac has been associated with first love and romance. During the Victorian Age, the giving of a lilac was meant to be a reminder of an old love. In fact, widows were often seen wearing lilacs during this period. From the same family as the olive tree, these beautiful blooms have now been recognised by the fashion pack and can be seen filling every high street.
