Badminton Bound : 08.05.14

Yikes!  This is it!  We have had sweaty palms all week trying to get everything ready for our launch and Badminton was always our target.  And now it’s here!  We have 24 hours to perfect a few glitches, check spellings, proof read for the gazillionth time and just go for it.  With all these things, there are definitely areas that need a bit more work.  The main one is the Little Orange Book of Experts – it is thinner than we would have liked – but we don’t mind that.  We know it will grow over time and become your crucial tool for finding the leading equestrian experts in their field, be it osteopaths, vets, farriers etc.  We can’t keep this a secret anymore – we hope you like what you see.

Our premise has always been to have the best of the best on TheGaitpost – we don’t need to fill up pages if we haven’t found the creme de la creme yet.  We will be growing every week: more product reviews, more chats with the Pros and collecting more and more inspirational ideas for you to enjoy.

We have been overwhelmed by the support we have received so far.  Today is no exception – last minute requests for images have been pinged through immediately and our web designer really deserves a medal for his patience – don’t worry Dave, the end is in sight – although I do believe we will be constantly trying new things and improving on what we have got so far!  We haven’t told him yet about some of the new ideas to come! Watch this space!

Badminton is such a momentus week of the year and with William Fox-Pitt’s recent win in Kentucky, can he charge ahead for the Grand Slam?  We will be watching avidly.  Harriet and I will be at Badminton on Friday and Saturday and would love to hear what you think of TheGaitpost.  You can tweet us at @thegaitpost – do get in touch or bookmark our daily newspaper – The Daily Bale – where we will update all Badminton news from our reliable news feeds.  It is a great resource for equestrian news all in one place.

We really hope you enjoy our Pinterest boards – there is so much equestrian inspiration out there and we always wanted to have it in one place – whether you peruse it in a coffee break or have plans for a project, it is a great place to collect ideas and have a bit of a dream at some of the exceptional things out there – breathtaking arenas, fabulous organisational ideas and creative yard designs amongst a few.

And then there’s our blog – which is here – we will be roaming around the country over the coming months meeting the people behind the sport and sharing our adventures with our own horses, Donald and Mischief, as well as discussing important issues relating to horse welfare and the industry.

So a big welcome to TheGaitpost – we have got our work cut out and its going to be emotional !

P.S. If you aren’t on Twitter, you can always email us at hello@thegaitpost.com – the old ways are often the best ways !
