BHS and BE launch special joint exam

BHS logoBritish Eventing have teamed up with The British Horse Society (BHS) to offer a unique opportunity for riders aged between 17-21 aspiring to become Eventing Coaches.

The BHS has agreed to offer riders who have achieved two BE90s with a qualifying result* the opportunity to take part in a special ‘BHS -BE’ exam which will incorporate EQL Level 2 Diploma in BHS Horse Knowledge and Care (Stage 2) and EQL Level 3 in BHS Riding Horses (Stage 3).

 

This exam recognises the skills already achieved through the U18 and U21 programmes. It will enable riders to progress directly to the EQL Level 3 Diploma in BHS Horse Knowledge and Care (Stage 3) and BHS coaching qualifications, such as the EQL Level 3 Certificate in BHS Preliminary Teaching of Horse Riding (PTT) and the EQL Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Equestrian Riding (UKCC Level 2).

This exam pathway is an opportunity open ONLY to BE riders and acknowledges the effort and correct training that the U18 and U21 programme promotes. The cost of this unique BHS-BE Assessment, incorporating EQL Level 2 Diploma in BHS Horse Knowledge and Care and EQL Level 3 in BHS Riding Horses is £245.

This special BHS-BE assessment is taking place on Wednesday 26th August at Ingestre, Staffordshire. In order to help prepare applicants for the assessment there will also be two training days available at Ingestre during the lead up to the big day. More details about these days will be provided to all that apply.

If you are aged between 17 and 21 and have completed two BE90s with a qualifying result*, you can apply.

To apply, Candidates must fill out BOTH the EQL Level 2 Diploma in BHS Horse Knowledge and Care application form and the EQL Level 3 in BHS Riding Horses application form and send them both, with the payment of £245, to

*The qualifying result is a clear cross country round and no more than eight penalties in the show jumping phase.
