Although El Remanso’s hallmark has always been team-work and this game was no exception. Not only did the team mark their opponents well – every time Juan Gris Zavaleta had the ball two El Remanso players were on him – every member of this all-English team, including Ollie Cudmore, James Beim and James Harper, found the flags too. Clinova had to rely on another Englishman, Malcolm Borwick, for the majority of their goals – he fired through four penalties and a field goal – but it was not enough to challenge El Remanso’s early lead. Charlie’s team were 8-4 up at half-time, giving them a comfortable cushion.

Clinova made the most of their penalties to creep back into contention by the end of the fifth, but then failed to score at all in the sixth and final chukka, handing the win to El Remanso.
