Gemma Broad joins the team as Performance Director responsible for the Australasia region to further develop the EquiRatings growing portfolio of international clients. Gemma comes with a wealth of experience in the sports data industry, having spent eight years as the performance analyst for the England Cricket Team and will manage clients from the company’s new base in Wellington.

EquiRatings’ now has clients across Europe and while still best known for its work in eventing, is expanding across equestrian disciplines. Gemma comments

“I am excited to start a new challenge with EquiRatings and look forward to working with the team to further develop their client offering on this side of the world. I am fortunate to be joining the company at such an exciting time in their development and can’t wait to get started.”

EquiRatings, which was shortlisted as Ireland’s Best Start Up (IBYE) in 2015 and has reached the final of Ireland’s National Enterprise Awards 2016, being held in June of this year, provides in-depth data, statistics and content to events, media, governing bodies as well as performance analysis for professional riders, owners and teams.

Sam Watson, co-founder and director said

“Gemma’s wealth of experience and industry knowledge makes her a key addition to the EquiRatings’ family. Her appointment is a sign of our commitment to being the leading company in our industry. Our innovation in eventing safety – the ERQI service, and the increasing demand for media and commentary content from events around the world, led us to look for an addition to our team who understands and loves both equestrian sports and sports data.

We are very fortunate that we were able to find someone of Gemma’s calibre and experience to fulfil this role. From the very outset of our dealings with Gemma, we have been confident that she was the person we were waiting to find. Gemma will play a key role in the growth of EquiRatings in Australasia and will allow us to bring a range of solutions to new clients in the region”.

Following on from their support at Badminton, EquiRatings will be heading to the Dodson & Horrell Chatsworth International Horse Trials to support the opening leg of the Event Rider Masters.

Speaking to The Gaitpost earlier today, Diarmuid Byrne said,

“Delighted to be back at Badminton this week supporting the media teams. We love finding the human interest stories buried in the data and it promises to be a great week…..Can anyone stop him (Jung) from doing the Grand Slam? Of course they can. It’s Badminton!”
