After a successful launch year for the Future Two Star League, British Eventing has announced a brand new sponsor to BE’s portfolio as title sponsor of this important league.

Calver Wealth Management, who are a representative of St. James’s Place Wealth Management, a long standing sponsor of the spectacular international horse trial at Barbury Castle have generously come on board to support BE’s league for leading young horses competing at CIC2* and CCI2* level.

As such, the League will now be entitled the‘Calver Wealth Management 2* League’.

Jo Calver, a Wealth Management Consultant for the organisation commented on the new development: “Through St. James’s Place Wealth Management’s support of Barbury we have really enjoyed being a part of a sport which many of us follow or have a personal involvement with.

“Working with BE means that we are able to put back in to the sport by supporting an important pathway up the ladder for young horses in to top level equestrian sport, whilst at the same time creating brand awareness for Calver Wealth Management.”

The inaugural League winner was former Olympian Daisy Berkeley who won the inaugural point accumulator with Fred and Penny Barker’s up and coming Irish-bred gelding, Strike Smartly. Daisy commented on the League: “If it hadn’t been for the League I might have been tempted to push him a little bit harder this season, which is a mistake you can make with really good eight year olds.”

“Aiming for this League has been a great benefit to him, as well as offering a substantial prize to myself and his extremely supportive owners.”

As with the 2015 League, next year’s Calver Wealth Management 2* League winning rider will receive a bursary of £5000 to share with the owners of their winning ride; the owners will also be the recipients of a bronze horse as a proud memento of their horse’s achievement.
