One of the leading land-based colleges in the UK, Askham Bryan College is the largest provider of specialist land-based further education in England. Originally opened in January 1948, today the College offers courses from entry level to honours degrees in a number of centres extending through Yorkshire, Cumbria and the North East.
The 2016 National Under-21 Championships will again be hosted at Houghton International, Norfolk, May 26th-29th. Sophie How took the title in 2015 riding the nine-year-old Bojangles HRS, where she received a host of generous prizes from sponsor Askham Bryan and a cut glass bowl from British Eventing as a memento of their National Championship achievement.
With the support of Askham Bryan College, the 2015 European Young Rider team secured team gold, individual gold and individual silver in Strzegom, Poland and 2016 will see the British Young Rider team defending their title in Montellibretti, Italy between 21st and 25th September. Along with the aim of producing Championship medals, the Programme also promotes the education of talent for the future and it is hoped that eligible riders will aim to compete at the National Under 21 Championships held at Houghton International (26th – 29th May 2016).
