Birthday Celebrations for Redwings Rock Star Elvis

Party goers will be treated to an array of rock ‘n’ roll-themed surprises during the fun event, which will take place at the Redwings Ada Cole Visitor Centre, near Harlow, Essex, on Sunday 3rd July from 11.30am.

Handsome Welsh pony Elvis, famed for his striking colouring and legendary rock star quiff, has been cared for by the charity since 2011 alongside his best mates, aptly named Presley, Tennessee, Memphis, Priscilla and Graceland! The gang were among a large group of malnourished ponies from Wales who were signed over to Redwings after their elderly owner was unable to look after them properly.

Having been temporarily rehomed to a loving Guardian family, Elvis returned to live permanently at Redwings Ada Cole in 2014 where his super-friendly personality and love of taking centre-stage soon won him a legion of fans and saw him named as the charity’s next Adoption Star resident.

Redwings, which cares for 1,500 rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules at centres across the UK, has been running its popular Adoption Club for over 30 years, which allows supporters to sponsor an Adoption Star horse or donkey for just £12.50 a year, with every penny going directly towards their daily care and that of their friends.

Supporters can visit their Adoption Star for free at the centre where they live and receive updates on their four-legged friend’s progress. They’re even invited to celebrate their birthday with a party every year where they can give their Adoption Star a cuddle and join in party games, while their adorable friend tucks into a specially made cake, just for them!
