Women in Racing (WiR), the network that supports women involved with horseracing, has announced two exciting summer events open to anyone, including WiR members and guests.

On the evening of Monday 7th August Women in Racing, in partnership with Jockey Club Racecourses North West, will host a ‘Furthering Your Career In Racing’ event at Carlisle Racecourse’s unique #AmazingMonday fixture.  

Then for the first time Women in Racing will step into the sport of Eventing. In partnership with the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials and Champagne House Pol Roger members and guests can enjoy an exclusive day at the prestigious three-day event on Friday 1st September

#AmazingMonday at Carlisle Racecourse – Monday 7th August

Carlisle Racecourse’s #AmazingMonday fixture on Monday evening (7th August) will play host to a Careers in Racing and Racing Welfare event.  The fixture is the only one in the world where all the races are ridden by female jockeys and celebrates women in the sport.  

Guests will enjoy presentations from Racing Welfare on the new Careers Advice and Training Service (CATS) and their extensive work within horseracing, followed by a Q&A session.

This will be followed by drinks reception and finger buffet, as well as enjoying the racing action in a private box.  Tickets cost £30 for WiR members and £35 for non.

The Pol Roger Experience at the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials – Friday 1st September

Eventing and horseracing have many synergies and for the first time Women in Racing will offer its members and guests the opportunity to experience one of the most prestigious Eventing competitions in the world – The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials, on Friday 1st September. 

Guests will have the opportunity to learn about the history of Pol Roger champagne, as well as enjoying a tasting experience of the esteemed champagne.  Guests will also be hosted by a leading event rider on a course walk around the imposing Burghley cross country course.  Additionally, those attending will have use of the Pol Roger Lodge throughout the day, as well as taking in Day 2 of dressage and browse Burghley’s renowned shopping village.

Cost to attend is £60 for WiR members and £75 for non.
