The Box Office for one of Britain’s most enduring sporting events: The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials 2015 (3rd – 6th September 2015), opened on 1st May 2015 and there has never been a better time to book.
Not only are there significant discounts on ticket prices if purchased in advance; but this year for the first time, admission tickets for the Thursday, Friday and Sunday will be interchangeable at no additional cost.
2014 was one of the Event’s most popular seasons yet, with 166,000 visitors passing through the gates across the four days of competition – an increase of over 6% on the previous year.
With Antipodeans dominating the leader board in 2014 and Andrew Nicholson’s unprecedented third successive Land Rover Burghley win on Rosemary Barlow’s popular grey gelding Avebury, the 2015 competition looks set to be as competitive as ever. With, on average, 80 elite horse and rider combinations drawn from across the globe taking part in what is recognised as eventing’s toughest challenge.
The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials starts with two days of dressage in the main arena (Thursday and Friday). Saturday is cross country day, when competitors test their nerve around Burghley’s famously demanding course, designed by Captain Mark Phillips. The competition then comes to a climax with show jumping on Sunday to determine who will carry home the Land Rover Perpetual Challenge Trophy and the substantial first prize money.
Situated within the magnificent parkland of Burghley House, Stamford (Lincs/Cambs Border), Land Rover Burghley is renowned not only as a major international sporting event, but also as the premier occasion in the Autumn social calendar. The expansive, much-loved retail village is currently being planned, with a number of exciting new developments in the pipeline. Each year more than 600 carefully selected exhibitors offer everything from artisan cheeses and local produce to luxury goods such as diamond jewellery, cutting-edge fashion and stunning safaris. For the serious equestrian every possible element of horse-related paraphernalia is on sale, ranging from stabling, feed and tack to riding boots, hats and clothing.
Advance admission ticket prices start at £14. For further information and to book, visit: www.burghley-horse.co.uk
