Open Novice (J): William Fox-Pitt and Grafenacht (25.3)

Commented William Fox-Pitt:

“It’s been a long while since I’ve been to Somerford but it’s an event which always gets a good press.  It’s been such a bad year for cancellations, the horses really needed a run. It was a long way to come from Dorset but we brought 5 up and it was a really good education for them.  We are so lucky to get this good ground.  They are a great team at Somerford, who really know their job and I hope to be back.”

Laura Greenhalgh, winner of Novice H on the 8 year old Vivogue, had made the 3 hour journey from near Retford in Nottinghamshire. She described it as her biggest eventing win to date:

“I have been to Somerford once before, a couple of years ago. We came here today because we thought it would be a good prep run for the One star at Osberton. It’s such an amazing event and the going was perfect.”
