The renowned photographer, who is also an ambassador for Visit Dartmoor, has exclusive access to several venues where he hosts his Capture the Action workshops including at Bicton Arena and Nunney International Horse Trials.

Malcolm has been running equestrian and adventure sports photography workshops for over five years and they are suitable for complete beginners looking to master their digital camera to semi-professionals who would like to develop their own style of photography.

During the horse trials workshops Malcolm explores the different disciplines of dressage, show jumping and cross-country. Technical requirements are discussed such as camera, equipment, composition and light. He also examines horse sense, such as the best place to stand, how to capture the best gaits of the horse, and how to help to use imagery to help the horse and rider look their best.

Malcolm also works with Emma Massingale who is famed for being the first British person to develop a language that enables her to work with groups of horses carrying out complex exercises and manoeuvres at liberty.

He said: “These are extraordinary workshops that give access to Emma, enabling budding photographers to see for themselves who she works at Liberty with her teams of horses and ponies. She is a remarkable persona and the photographic opportunities are breathtaking.”

Malcolm’s workshops take place at Bicton Arena on April 23 2017 and August 30 2017 and Nunnery International Horse Trials on June 18 2017 and with Emma Massingale on October 2 2017.
