EquiRatings: Safety, future stars & those acronyms!

The International Eventing Forum, which took place at Hartpury College on Monday 6th February, shone the light on the training and development of both horse and rider as the next four year cycle plans for Tokyo 2020 as well as sharing insights from leading professionals about the training required to inspire and prepare the next generation.

We heard from super coaches Tracie Robinson and Caroline Moore, super grooms Alex Van Tuyll, Imo Mercer and Zanie King, Badminton course designer Eric Winter and 2016 Burghley champion Chris Burton. More from them later.

It was the first session after lunch that had the Hartpury indoor arena enraptured not only by the dulcet tones of keynote speaker Diarmuid Byrne, Co-Founder of EquiRatings, but by the science being applied to the sport for both safety and performance gains.

Ellie Kelly chatted to Diarm after his presentation to find out how EquiRatings data analysis is moving the sport forwards and which combinations are the ones to watch this season…plus he debunked some of those acronyms!

Save The Date: The next International Eventing Forum will take place on 5th February 2018
