Festival of Hunting Round Up

An enthusiastic crowd of around 6000 hunting and countryside supporters attended the Festival of Hunting at the East of England Showground.

FOH 2016

This year’s festival encompassed the 128th running of the Peterborough Royal Foxhound Show and is widely renowned as being the most important event in the world for foxhound breeding.

The Festival of Hunting also held well supported classes for Harriers, Beagles, Bassett Hounds, Drag Hounds, Fell and Stag Hounds, Terriers and Coursing Dogs.

Following their first year of sponsorship Lycetts commented;

 “Lycetts is delighted to have marked its first year as the sponsor for the Festival of Hunting with a wonderful day of hound judging, inter-hunt relays and hunting camaraderie. For us it was a wonderful opportunity to see many friends and contacts and to meet so many like-minded supporters of this event.

Lycetts is inextricably linked to hunting and the countryside, our links run deep through the many farms and estates with which we have an association and over which hunting within the law is conducted.

For us it is a very natural association to support this Summer time celebration of hounds, hunting and the countryside and we look forward to developing our relationship further with the Festival and the hunting community in general in the years to come.”

The popular Inter Hunt Relay, sponsored by Honri Hats, attracted the crowds. Paul Baynham-Honri said:

“The Honri Hats Inter Hunt relay once again gave an exciting competition for both the seniors and juniors. Congratulations to Holcombe, the senior winners, and Cottesmore Foxes, the junior winners, and all the teams who took part and gave us a great days sport. Thank you to Mike Tucker for keeping us informed through the day in the brilliant style. The Festival of Hunting is becoming one of the most important days in the Honri Hats show calendar.”
