Glamorous hippophiles celebrate launch of grooming kit

When a grooming kit is so outrageously beautiful you’d consider using it on yourself, it deserves its own launch party, so on Tuesday the Renwick & Sons Quintessentially Equestrian Dinner saw a fittingly glamorous set of hippophiles gather at Daphne’s in London to celebrate, writes Eve Jones.

Tables were hosted by the top British dressage and event riders Bobby Hayler and Holly Woodhead, ex-international showjumper and coach John Sillett and Candida Baker (in place of trainer husband George who had pulled up lame during his marathon training).

Among the Quintessentially guests were owners and riders from the competitive world, thrusters of the hunting field and enthusiasts from the City Saddles club all treated to the prettiest Seasonal Spritz cocktails and Daphne’s delicious supper of Burrata with Datterini & Basil, Chicken with Olive Oil Mash and Sprouting Broccoli with Chilli & Garlic and a wicked Tiramisu to finish. 

While boisterous chat was of the love of all things horse, the burning question was would there be a hand-crafted Renwick & Sons brush in the goodie bag. Not to be this time but equally as lovely was the ingenious ‘Horse’s neck’ candle by Illumens to take home for that nostalgic, horsey leatheriness without putting the work in…
