Whether its to do with our very British reserve or the fact that we don’t exactly live in a very sunny climate, us Brits don’t tend to embrace the idea of colour in our wardrobes. Travelling out to Spain, as we often do to visit our team who create all our footwear, we’ll always see colour and pattern celebrated through clothing, and now we are on fashion mission to prove that anyone can wear a hint of colour with confidence.

The best way to get confident with colour is to start off small and then build and to choose colours that suit your skin tone. The best way to determine which colours work for you is to go shopping, grab hangers full of different coloured clothing and one black garment. Hold the black garment in one hand and run through the colour choices one by one by holding them up under your chin. Review, remove and replace the black clothing under your chin, then try it again. Using the black garment in-between helps realign the eye and what you will find is that some colours ‘lift’ you and others ‘drain’ you. It’s a matter of trying quite a few, but once you’ve done your homework, you’ll be ready to experiment!

The easiest way to introduce colour is through accessories, and our range of colourful boots are the perfect introduction to adding a burst! Our two-tone boots range from subtle through to bold, so if you are what we call, ‘colour conservative’ you could go for a block of colour in a darker or more muted shade with just a splash of colour through the narrower section of the boot. Go for a darker palette throughout the rest of your outfit, or for a hint of surprise, pick out that same colour and choose a scarf or handbag of matching tone.

The most crucial aspect of wearing colour is choosing a palette with which you feel most comfortable. If that means picking more muted shades such as Berry, Raspberry and Plum over Hot Pink, Turquoise and Tropical Yellow, it doesn’t matter, just as long as you enjoy the flood of compliments that your new style is going to bring!
