“Each year Bates Saddles support our event with sponsorship and the donation of two saddles. One saddle is the first prize in our raffle and the second is drawn from amongst all the individual class winners. As just one class was completed before the event was called off we were going to return the second saddle to Bates but they have very thoughtfully suggested that it be sold to benefit the scholarship fund and I can’t thank them enough for their heartfelt gesture”.
Blair Richardson, President of the Scone Horse Trials explained,

The auction winner can choose any saddle from the innovative and extensive Bates Saddles range which are valued at up to A$5,195 (approx £2700) and are used by many top riders around the world including Australian eventing Olympians Shane Rose and Stuart Tinney.

“With freight covered to anywhere in the world, the auction is open to bidders from both home and overseas and marks a tremendous opportunity to support the Olivia Inglis Eventing Scholarship by acquiring a top class Bates Saddle” said Blair.
The auction is being hosted by Horsezone, Australia’s No. 1 equine site and a division of William Inglis & Son Ltd. Click here to get involved and leave a bid.
