National Wool Week: The Life of Brian Part 9

Brian, our roving rover sniffs out the best buys for discerning pooches in his dedicated blog to all things dog. From field (and stable) to city, our pooch on a mission to discover the best products for doggies with style.

This month, it’s National Wool Week and I’m not going to pull the wool over your eyes, wool is perfect for us dogs.

Wool is 100% natural and is able to absorbs or releases moisture depending on how cold or warm the body temperature is so it’s comfortable to wear as well as looking super stylish!

Here are a few of my favourite doggie wool products out there from toys, clothing, beds and accessories…

This perfectly pink wool bone from Teddy Maximus is too good to chew but ideal for those ‘throw and fetch’ games I simply love. The squeaker offers plenty of fun and it’s just the right size for even mini me to enjoy playtime.

RRP: £17.99

I really want this gorgous Scooby Dog Harness with it’s hot pink trim and tweed wool outer by Hettie. It comes in a variety of tweeds, so you can plan your outfit with your human and features an adjustable waist strap and a cool polka dot cotton lining I love. Stepping out in style!

RRP: £95

This Wool Donut Dog Bed is the prefect place for any pooch to reside! Stuffed with hollow fibre to keep it really fluffy and soft (but still sturdy!).The high sides and the round shape make this bed great for dogs to curl up in a cosy, protected place. The bed also has a zipper on the bottom and a removable inner pillow, which makes washing easy for mucky pups like me.

I’ve discovered a rather fabulous brand called Wool & Dogs, based in Europe, who basically do wool accessories for dogs!  Their products are 100% chemical free and 100% natural wool, now that is something to bark about!

This beautiful handcrafted and hand stitched ‘Urban Dog Collar is the perfect shade of grey to stand out on my big coat, but they also come in Berry & Natural shade too with matching leads. The brass hardware won’t rust or corrode and being made from very compact 100% natural wool, two of its biggest advantages are its strength and water resistance. Perfect for someone like me who likes to get involved with mud and puddles on a walk!

Prices start at 28 Euros

Brian Tries:

Pink Whiskers Forest & Fur Coat

I adore this coat, not only does the faux fur collar give me a luxurious look but it’s simply gorgeous to wear! My humans found it exceptionally easy to put on, adjust and remove thanks to the generous velcro straps on the chest and tummy. The combination of the striking tweed colour and check, the button detailing along the back and the cute contrast tweed heart always make people stop and say wow as I strut my stuff around town or in the woods.

I love it because it’s practical and fashionable and doesn’t restrict me across the shoulders so I can run, jump and leap around as much as I want to. My human loves it because it looks fabulous on me and is lightweight enough to pop in her handbag and put on should the weather change and for when I need an extra layer.

Prices start from £35

Sizes: 10”, 12”,14” & Dachshund.
