This brings first reserve Isobel Lickley with Robert and Nicola Lickley’s Gigolo into the team to make their British team debut.
Chief Selector Andrew Harris commented;
“It’s extremely disappointing to lose Ottilie at this late stage. She’s shown outstanding commitment throughout the selection process and to have it end like this is sad for her and her connections. She’s taken it extremely well and we hope it won’t dent her dressage ambitions. My fellow selectors and I have every confidence in Isobel and Gigolo. While it’s Isobel’s first Championship, ‘Gigs’ is a seasoned veteran with five Europeans behind him.”
The ponies and support crew start their journey to Denmark on Friday morning.
The selectors, riders, team staff and all at British Dressage are extremely grateful for the support of Equestrian Team GBR and NAF, and would like to welcome new team suppliers, LeMieux. In addition, further thanks to Tony and Sarah Pidgley for their kind hospitality at Kilbees Farm for hosting the pre-European team camp.
