The first, on Sunday, 22 January, is the Harrison, James & Hardie Heythrop Hunt Club Point-to-Point, has received a bumper entry, including former Olympic champion cyclist Victoria Pendleton and will feature top-class racing. The meeting’s highlight is the Harrison, James & Hardie Lord Ashton Of Hyde Cup, run over four miles and one of the “Classic” races of the point-to-point calendar.

The six-race card starts at 12 noon. Gates open at 10am. Viewing for spectators is excellent, and a wide variety of hot food and drink will be on sale.

Clerk of the course Nick Phillips said:

“The course is in great condition and the long-range forecast is good. This meeting always attracts high-calibre entries and is a brilliant day out, giving us all the opportunity to blow away the Christmas cobwebs!”

Access off the A40, signed to Lodge Park. Entry costs £20.
