SEIB £50k Charity Grant

Equestrian charity World Horse Welfare is currently the favourite to receive a generous £50,000 grant from SEIB Insurance Brokers — thanks to its clients.

SEIB, the go-to broker to cover everything equestrian, announced at the end of August that it was to give £50,000 to a medium-sized charity in January 2018 and its clients have until 31 December 2017 to make their choice.

SEIB clients have voted for 215 different in just eight weeks, with World Horse Welfare in the lead (see infographic attached). Other charities in the mix include those that support cancer and Alzheimer’s research, as well as small animal and hospice organisations.

“I am impressed with the response to this opportunity and I am delighted that it has highlighted how much we do for charity and how committed we are to supporting good causes,” said SEIB chief executive Barry Fehler. “The aim is to give the money to a charity that will use the sum for the major part of a capital investment.”

The interest this unique competition has attracted is such that SEIB has raised the cap of income level to £15million so more small- to medium-sized charities will be eligible. The cap on the size of the charities is to ensure that the grant will go to those where it will make the most difference.

There is still time for SEIB clients to place their votes but time is running out, as the countdown to Christmas is well under way.

“This is an incredible opportunity for a good cause to have an amazing 2018 and we want our clients to help us to make the choice,” said Mr Fehler.
