Shetland Pony collects a cheque for Brooke

Today, representatives from Wimbledon stables presented a cheque to Mini Fat Pony and Brooke CEO Petra Ingram for £4070. The stables raised this money for Brooke to help improve the lives of working horses, donkeys and mules overseas.

The 2017 Wimbledon Village Stables (WVS) Charity Ball raised over £4000 for Brooke, an international charity that protects and improves the lives of working horses, donkeys and mules in the developing world.

One hundred and ten WVS members, friends and family gathered at Woodlands Park Hotel, Cobham on Saturday 11th March. This was the first year that Brooke was the sole beneficiary of the charity ball, and Petra Ingram, the Chief Executive of Brooke, gave a talk giving insight into the charity’s work.

Petra Ingram, Chief Executive of Brooke said:

“We were delighted to be chosen as the charity beneficiary of this year’s Wimbledon Village Stables Charity Ball, and very grateful to all those who supported it. I had an excellent time at the ball and was happy to have the opportunity to visit the stables with Mini Fat Pony. She was happy to accept the cheque, and it will help Brooke reach even more working horses, donkeys and mules in the developing world.”

Carol Andrews from Wimbledon Village Stables said:

“This year’s ball was a fantastic success, and we were so excited to have Mini Fat Pony come to the stables so we could present this cheque to her and Petra. We are proud to support Brooke and  are looking forward to next year’s ball!”

Last year, Brooke played an April Fools trick on their supporters by announcing that Mini Fat Pony had been taken on as a new member of staff – ‘Motivational Education Officer’.
