Fans of the brand include international eventer Caroline Powell and the equestrian face of the brand is top eventer Georgie Spence.

For the coming season, the brand selects two of their favourite style combinations and throws some top tips into the mix…

OUTFIT ONE:

The Liberty Freedom Sandhurst Fishtail Jacket takes it’s influence from military styling and presents a beautifully classic coat with some contemporary designer touches. The jacket can be worn done up or open and for the trot up, we would suggest you wear it, whichever way you feel gives you the best freedom of movement. The vintage inspired union jack trim inside is also carried through the neck wind catcher strap so you can wear on the reverse for a flash of patriotism and fashion! The back of the jacket features a beautiful fishtail detail – so you look as good from the front and the back!

You could team this outfit with a scarf, but make sure it is tied neatly so it doesn’t end up having a streamer effect as you begin to run!

We would compliment with our beautiful La Caballeria Collection’ (Meaning ‘Cavalry Collection’ in Spanish) this time in Navy with a flash of Red in a contrast tassel. The boots tie in with the uniformed theme and the pop of Red adds interest to a classic colour way. Great boots that say a lot without being too over the top or distracting attention from your horse!

OUTFIT 2

We love this outfit as seen on our rider Georgie Spence and know she did too! The jacket is the Liberty Freedom Limited Edition Egality Flag Print and screams individuality with a patriotic twist! Perfect for those international events, this jacket is so flattering (long in length and buttoned up covers tummies) a belted back detail and flap add a beautiful silhouette and the vintage union jack print is bold but classy.

We would recommend teaming this up with a pair of our navy short Valverde Jodhpur Boots, again as seen on Georgie. Easy to wear and a classic with a twist they work brilliantly with Jeans or smarter trousers and can take you from trot up to trotting out for an evening of drinking and dancing.

If you are going for bold, keep the basics simple and clean. Adding frills or detail to your base layer will ruin the impact of a great jacket or signature piece of clothing.

And finally, do a trial run in the outfit you plan to wear BEFORE you get to the event – can you run in it and are your boots comfortable on all surfaces? Wardrobe malfunctions are not the place for the trot-up!
