Barbury’s cross country course travels over rolling downland with much of it utilising old turf gallops. The well drained chalkland promises good going and retains plenty of spring and turf cover even in a dry summer. The cross country course was newly built for the first event in July 2005. Designed by International Course Designer, Captain Mark Phillips, the fences are mostly permanent with some portables.

Homme House is the only BE event wholly in Herefordshire. It runs Novice, BE100 and BE90 classes. The XC is very well built and designed by Simon Grundy and his team through beautiful undulating Capability Parkland with varied jumps. There is an attractive water complex that had a face-lift in 2015. Very flat dressage arenas below Much Marcle church. The show jumping was moved for 2016 which proved popular with competitors and visitors alike as it was surrounded by the trade stands and was more central to the event.
